摘要：This paper deals with the retemion and drainageproperties of the high substituted degree cationicstarch (HCS) prepared by half-dry process. Theexperiments show that HCS has remarkable effectson filler retention and drainage in papermakingindustry. With the degree of substitution (DS) ofHCS increasing, the effects on filler retention anddrainage increase. When the DS of HCS is 0.509 andthe dosage is 0.08%, the fi'eeness decreases about12oSR and the filler retention is 79.82%.
