摘要：To Room Nineteen is singled out as one of Doris Lessing’ s best short stories. It started with a "happy" marriage between Susan and Rawling,but ended with Susan’s suicide in Room Nineteen where she thought she could find real freedom. This paper tries to analyze Susan’s psychological state and needs,her unusual behaviors,as well as her death from Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory.
